Hi. I’m a turkey and cheese sandwich. I started my journey on a kitchen counter at Friendship House, made with loving hands, a little bit of cheese, and just enough mustard.

I was carefully wrapped, boxed, and transported in a cooler with my sandwich siblings. We were nervous—would we be enough? Would we get squished? Would we make a difference?

Then someone picked me out of the box—a young guy named Devin who hadn’t eaten all day. He said, “Oh wow, real meat!” and took a bite like I was a five-star meal. I was gone in four bites. And in that moment, I realized: I was exactly where I was meant to be.
